My Pull List for September 14, 2011

on Tuesday, September 13, 2011
@DanSlott is writing one of the greatest Amazing Spider-Man runs in the title's history.

What a terrible ending to what is arguably one of the greatest Marvel heroes ever. Hundreds upon hundreds of books and the run ends with "Angry White Man". It's a shame.

This, however, is making up for it. Awesome new volume.

Disclaimer in case you're laughing at me: I've never been a big DC reader other than Jonah Hex. So I picked the new #1's that looked like the coolest characters.

ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I think this looks awesome, I love Frankenstein, and whatever SHADE is, I hope it's a cool place to work.  Oh yeah, and it's Jeff Fucking Lemire!

This book is a hoot. I LOVE it.

See above disclaimer.

Even without an ending to Choker anywhere in sight, I will buy anything McCool does.

Love me some Punisher. And this title is brutal, fully living up to the MAX imprint.

As creepy a book (comic or otherwise) I've read in a long time. And there's only been one issue so far.

Again, see disclaimer.

Does anything else need to be said about this title? It's awesome.

Who Needs Alan Fucking Moore? My Pull List for September 07, 2011

on Wednesday, September 7, 2011
GREAT week, this.

Who needs Alan Moore when we have THE Grant Morrison?

Super excited about this title. Can't wait to see how it works.

The awesomeness of this title continues.

More Morning Goodness please. Thank you.

One of the funniest books I've read in a long time. You are really missing out a burst out laughing read.

This is some quality stuff right here.

Hmm. We shall see.

This book hasn't slowed down for approximately 75 issues.

Can this book get any friggin better??

I'm really, REALLY hoping the new creative team doesn't stray too far. I loved this title as is.

God, issue #1 kicked ass!

My Pull List for August 10, 2011

on Tuesday, August 9, 2011
Dan Slott is killing ASM, in a good way.  This has been one of the best ASM eras if all time.

What a tragic, cliched ending to one of the greatest comic runs in history.  Angry white man hates Black Panther.  Bleh...  I've got basically every DD issue, so for completeness sake I'll be getting the last few issues.

God I love this book.

Get ready to "Fallout" of my pull list USM.

My Pull List for July 27, 2011

on Thursday, July 28, 2011
Had a big day yesterday and was really looking forward to reading some of these, lots to read, but my wife decided to go hormonally bananas last night so I took an Ambien, hid in my office and fell asleep on my recliner. That sounded really sad typing it out.

Moving the fuck on.

If the name "Christos Gage" is under the part where it says "Writer". I buy it.

I don't think this ended up coming out yesterday, but totally worth waiting for...even with the creative team shakeup.

Nothing's really happened yet, Thor tripped out on some boomers, Aunt May slapped Marvel's Captain We Apologize For Being American & there's a big funeral. But what's missing? How is the Ultimate Universe without this character? What has his death had an effect on other than people's emotions? There has to be some kind of domino effect here...they've got 6 issues left we'll have to see.

My Pull List for July 06, 2011

on Wednesday, July 6, 2011
Nice week, this. I'll be doing a lot of reading, for sure.

Blue Estate #4
The covers for this title are mind blowingly awesome, as is the story.

Chew #19. It's Chew, nuff said.

Fear Itself #4 (of 7). Probably the only snoozer here, this "event" is pretty uneventful.

Fear Itself: Uncanny X-Force #1 (of 3). Uncanny X-Force has been rocking it...and (along with Deadpool, is the only tie in I'm buying.

Godzilla: Kingdom of Monsters #4. There's a little too much Obama worship in this one, but enough Eric Powell awesomeness to keep me reading.

Jonah Hex #69. Oh how I will miss you.

Moon Knight #3. Even though he pretty much destroyed the Avengers franchise, Bendis is doing a great job with Moon Knight. Too long has Marc gone without good treatment, and title is bringing it.

Thunderbolts #160. I just love this book, it's that simple.

Black Panther: The Man Without Fear #520
I am really starting to enjoy this title.  I never liked Black Panther but I like how he's being handled here.

Choker #6 (of 6)
Thank God! This has been an amazing ride with this book. No idea what schedule they were working on, sometimes it seems like it took years for the next issue to come out but it is absolutely amazing and worth every minute waiting.

Deadpool #39
Around and around we go...

The Mission #5
Another amazing title that I am enjoying incredibly...lots of conflict and always leaves ya thinkin'.  Image just knows how to make good titles.

Thunderbolts #159
I just can't get enough of this title. I'm loving it...it's anarchy!

Ultimate Avengers vs. New Ultimates #5 (of 6)
I guess this ties in to some tiny Spider-man story. Shrug.

Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #160
I hear something might happen in this issue.

My Pull List From June 01, 2011

on Sunday, June 12, 2011
A little late but I have an excuse.  A big one.  Can't tell you yet, but it's real.  Real fucking real.

Anyway, on with it:

Avengers Academy #14 Point One

Halcyon #5 (of 5)

Haunt #16

Jonah Hex #68 (Goodbye, Yellow Brick Road...) I am sad. I love this book. Thanks for nuttin DC.

Moon Knight #2

Thunderbolts #158

Uncanny X-Force #11

The Walking Dead Survivors' Guide #3 (of 4)

My Pull List for May 18, 2011

on Wednesday, May 18, 2011
Yeah, yeah I know.  Spidey is everywhere.  But Gage's Academy characters are some of the most intriguing and I love reading anything related to Academy.

See above, minus the Spidey comment.

The first arc had me pissing my pants laughing.  Hydra Bob was put through hell and when Hammerhead smashed that dude's head in I laughed so hard I pissed my shirt (I don't know what that means, either).  But the latest arc is getting a bit odd.  Just go back to being funny, or serious.  Not both.  I'd rather the funny.

Uh, Image? Check.  Number 1? Check.  Pulled.

This is consistently, along with Academy, Chew, Walking Dead (I'll continue that live blogging of No Way Out...I just had to finish reading it because it was to fucking awesome to stop) Skullkickers, PunisherMAX, Haunt and Jonah Hex, one of the best series' on the racks.  I love everything about this title.

I'm just buying these to read about the Ultimate Spidey dying.

See above.

Gonna keep going with this title.  Fantomex is a really intriguing character and the last story arc really pulled itself by its bootstraps at the end there.

My Pull List for May 04, 2011

on Tuesday, May 3, 2011
The only Avengers book really worth reading at this point.  Christos Gage is one of the best writers in the Marvel Bullpen right now  Read everything he's doing, it's all superb and above par.

I'm as sick of Thor as can be, but I guess we're stuck with him while Marvel and Hollowweird make love again.

One of my favorite titles month after month.

Zombies, nuff said.

Let's try this again.  Am I more sick of Bendis or Thor?  Bendis.  But Moon Knight deserves a good title that continues.

I've put off the last two issues of this title...It started off great but it seems to be getting a bit boring.  Gonna try for another arc and see if anything happens, else this is getting dropped.

The Walking Dead Survivors Guide!  Good stuff!

My Pull List For Today

on Wednesday, April 27, 2011
Pretty big week for me today, I'm thinking of dropping Secret Avengers because nothing in the plot is sticking with me.  I'll need to free up some room for the upcoming Punisher, Daredevil and Moon Knight reboots as well...and Secret Avengers is at the top of my cut list, sorry Ed.

But any week with Walking Dead is a good week.
