Check Out My Utterly Unscientific Test Of My New Solid State Drive, The OCZ Vertex 3

on Monday, April 15, 2013
So I purchased this drive a few weeks back and I'm pretty much as in love with a piece of computer hardware as I ever have been.

I built this machine piece by piece over a period of approximately 3 months and am proud of the rig I built.

A while back one of the old platter drives that just happened to be my system drive died.

I had to buy a new drive right?  What reasons exist in this world that new system drive shouldn't be an SSD?  Exactly, none.

So here's the video of my rebooting my computer...well, let me show you my system specs first:

A cursory glance at my system and what I'm running.
Obviously I am going to up that 8GB of RAM to 16GB. It's cheap enough for even the best RAM out there.

I could also upgrade the video card, at some point.  But right now I basically play Half Life 2 and its episodes when I even do play games.  But once my estranged "wife" allows me to have my clothing and other personal belongings that have been held hostage for just approaching a year now, I will be upgrading that card and buy a few of the newer games out there...namely Bioshock's latest. And I'm hoping for a new Bad Company title.

These games may have already been announced but I am very much out of the loop.

I've always loved Bioshock and have never, ever been let down.  There also must be another Bad Company game coming soon, unless I've missed it (PLEASE tell me if I have), that I will also purchase as one of my modern favorite games alongside the Bioshocks.  But that all depends on when my "wife" deems me worthy to have some of my items back.

So, without further ado here is the video that I have uploaded to Youtube to leave it open for comments, suggestions and criticism.

Soon, I'll be outlining the tweaks I have done to the drive and to Windows in order to get the best of an incredible drive.

I still believe I have some more tweaks to do but this is rather impressive.

The Women Of Games Of Thrones

on Monday, April 1, 2013
I'm just starting to watch the show Game of Thrones and it's damn good.

It's also chock full of hotties.

Here's a few of the Girls of Thrones...

Sophie Turner
Sophie is 17 years old so let's keep it civil, shall we?

Psych. This girl is named Sophie Turner, but it isn't the one we're looking for. But enjoy.

Lena Headey

Michelle Fairley

Moving on...
Natalie Dormer

Esme Bianco

String has never in its history had to fight harder to stay together.

Do not worry, my friends, hot Emilia Clarke pics will be getting her own thread.

#GameOfThrones, Catching Up On Some TV

So I'm a little behind on all my favorite TV shows.

My divorce happened in the middle of #TheWalkingDead Season 2 so I'm just going to buy that on BD.  I own Season 1 and every comic issue so it's not JUST a TV show.

However, I did decide to start watching #GameOfThrones the other night and got hooked pretty quickly.  I've only watched 5 episodes but it was pretty much all in a row - that show is really good.

I do think that Sean Bean makes it, though.  If it were anyone else I'm not sure if the show would be as popular as it is right now.

No offense to anyone that didn't get the part.

I love that type of setting and, to be honest, Emilia Clarke is about as easy on the eyes as it gets.

But I'm not that shallow...I like swords and war, too. So there.

This 4 part video shows what has got to be some of the funniest footage ever released.

There is no doubt, after his disbarment, his new career is digging holes.

Look at this guy's poor client...for about 2 and a half videos he's sitting there staring at him like, "WTF are you doing?"

I still want to know who Mr. Sharky is. LOL

Can You Count The Weasel Words?

on Friday, March 1, 2013
In this article from Yahoo (don't ask how I even went there) that reprints an Associated Propoganda article about The Muslim Moron, Keith Ellison and his appearance on Hannity'sHannity Live .

Elison seems to be campaigning for an hitherto unknown opening for Chief Fearmonger Obama Czar .

If you haven't seen the appearance, momentarily slide the rock under which you live and watch this:

Now the article:
NEW YORK (AP) — Sean Hannity's cable television showdown this week with a Democratic congressman has become more than just a verbal schoolyard brawl. It's an opportunity — for money, attention and ratings.

Democratic and Republican advocates are using Tuesday's Fox News Channel appearance by Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison for fundraising, even as the newly minted feud continues. Hannity continued a discussion about Ellison's career on his show Friday.

Ellison opened his appearance on Tuesday's show by calling Hannity "the worst excuse for a journalist that I've ever seen," and their discussion descended from there. Hannity, who accused the congressman of "ranting," ended the gripping back-and-forth after eight minutes because "our audience deserves better."

The congressman appeared upset by a Hannity commentary just before his appearance that ridiculed President Barack Obama's speeches about fiscal negotiations.

Video clips of the confrontation spread online, and it swiftly became a partisan talking point. Conservative blogger Michelle Malkin tweeted that Ellison, the first Muslim elected to Congress, waged a "verbal jihad," or holy war, against Hannity. Martin Bashir, on his liberal MSNBC talk show, called the appearance "the utter evisceration of Sean Hannity on his own broadcast."

The lobbying group Progressive Change Campaign Committee sent out a solicitation to its supporters, urging them each to donate $3 to Ellison's campaign account or send him a thank you note. By Friday afternoon, the solicitation had raised $21,600, co-founder Adam Green said, with an additional $3,000 for a foundation supporting liberal congressional candidates.

Another liberal group, Democracy For America, also sent out an email to its supporters seeking donations in Ellison's name, spokesman T. Neil Sroka said.

"If you attack a hero of our movement, we're going to come back even stronger," Sroka said.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Republican Party posted a clip of the appearance on its website and asked for contributions. According to the website, nearly $47,000 of a fundraising goal of $50,000 had been pledged.

Hannity returned to the issue on his show Wednesday and Thursday, referring to an "epic meltdown" by the "incoherent congressman." A "Hannity" report Thursday explored Ellison's ties to polarizing personalities such as Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan.

"If I'm called a yellow journalist, immoral, a liar — as a matter of fair play, I did a little research on him, and he's got some views and friendships that have not been fully vetted," Hannity said in an interview Friday. "He sparked it. He initiated it." He denied that he was out for revenge.

"I follow my gut and instincts on what interests me," he said. "The fact that a congressman wants to start a fight with me, that's his business. I have the ability to fight back, and I will."

The spat could prove a welcome jolt of interest for Hannity when cable news ratings are sagging months since the presidential election. Hannity's average viewership of 1.9 million people in February was down 11 percent from February 2012, with a much sharper decline among young viewers, the Nielsen ratings company said.

Hannity said his ratings have been stabilizing. His Thursday night show, which featured Washington Post writer Bob Woodward, drew 2.5 million viewers.

Media critic Howard Kurtz, of The Daily Beast, said it was Ellison who had picked the fight and suggested he may have been trying to seek attention.

Ellison was unavailable for comment Friday, his spokesman said. In a statement issued Thursday, Ellison criticized Hannity's "personal attacks."

"Representative Ellison was invited to appear on 'Hannity' to discuss the sequester, an issue that will harm thousands of his constituents and the American economy, and accepted the invitation for that reason," spokesman Jeremy Slevin said.
All I want to know, my liberal brethren, is if you're able to recognize liberal bias when it's clearly there. That's all. Nothing more, nothing less.  No, "But FOX is baaad, mmmkay?". No blaming "the other side" to make your straw man.

Just a simple assignment that anyone who's taken (and passed) Writing 101 or Journalism 101 can do.

Are you an independent thinker, or do you simply eat the pap?

Do You Live With An Abuser?

on Thursday, February 28, 2013
It might be difficult for a man to admit that he, himself, is a victim of domestic violence.

As men, we've been condition through every media outlet from magazines, to fictional books, to television programs to movies - to be lapdogs.  It's considered "comedy" when we see the man being verbally assaulted by his wife on that new sit-com.  He sits there and takes it saying, "Yes dear" and the laugh-track rolls.

We laugh as we see the hapless male walking around a shopping store holding massive amounts of bags while the domineering female shops for hours.  She asks him if something looks nice on her and he says, "Yes dear", cue the laugh-track.

We snap to our feet when we're told to do things considered "a man's job".  While labled as stone-aged bigots if we consider a woman's job is to cook - I personally don't think it's her job, I believe it's a shared job. I believe all household chores when married are considered shared responsibilities.  Yet we sit there and do what we're told just so we can get along to get along.  We chuckle as she belittles us in social situations.  How many times has your appetite gotten the better of you and something was said like "Wow, you sure eat like a horse!"?  Even if you said that to your wife in a social setting!  Imagine if you said it to alone at the dinner table.  Yet we laugh it away.  We willingly let ourselves be treated like this.

Why?

Why allow yourself to be the victim of what is, in reality, domestic abuse?

Ask yourself these questions and then check yourself and rethink your life...because I have a few more questions when you're done answering them.

  • Do you ever not speak just so you can keep the peace?
Think of the old favorite stand up comedian and the joke about how a wife will bring up some topic from the past, catching you completely by surprise.  The stereotype is being perpetuated that we don't listen and we are allowed to be grilled like a bank robbery suspect about any topic at any time.  Oh, but there we go laughing it away.  Why do you allow this?
  • Does it feel as if though you're walking around your own home on eggshells?
You know this one, I'm sure.  You're not allowed to bring up certain topic.  Your speech is controlled.  Even your thoughts.  Bring something up that might prove your case in an argument and you may very well be accused of "not letting things go".  And you can absolutely count on that discussion being over, right then and there.  She controls when things get discussed in the marriage.  It isn't a two-way street - yet your abuser will be more than happy to turn it around and say that you never communicate.  But we just go along to get along.  Why?
  • Have you ever said to yourself, "Man I wish I had her on camera acting like that"?
The chances are pretty high at this point that your wife has some kind of personality disorder.  Be it Narcissistic Personality Disorder or Borderline Personality Disorder.  I want you to read those links.  No.  You need to read those links if we've gotten this far in these questions.

If you've felt the need to protect yourself by having video and audio evidence of how she has your mind so twisted with fear and shame, you need to leave the marriage as soon as you can.  If you have recorded her, consider yourself very lucky.  NPD is hard to prove.  And I don't have time to discuss which way certain opinions tend to lean when it comes to which one of you is considered an abuser.  One of you is walking in already judged.
  • Are there certain things about your wife that you don't tell your family or friends?
This one's pretty telling.  And you shouldn't be ignoring it.  If there are things and personality traits about your wife that you're afraid to tell others - there is something seriously wrong.
  • In relation to the above question: Do you tell lies to your friends and family about your wife...making her out to be a better person than she really is?
For instance.  If something good happened and people at work are asking about it and your friends or family members are happy for you...is that beautiful wife of yours pretty miserable?  Did she then, in turn, make you feel miserable and full of shame?  So if everyone else is happy for you, but the person you plan on spending every waking moment with until the day you die turns it around and makes you feel badly...don't spend one more waking moment with her highness.

  • Do you go so far out of your way to please her just to avoid making her upset?  Even if it comes at a hefty price for you?
Again.  Why?  Why is she better than you?  Why is one of you better than the other?  Did she mean those vows or equality and partnership?  Or did she just need to get married?

I hate to break it to you brother, but unless she's loaded there's no reason to stick around.  It isn't that hard to leave.  Imagine having to deal with a divorce after having children?  If you do have children...welcome aboard.

These are all things your abuser does to control you and keep you in constant fear.  I mean, it's pretty simple. Haven't we been told that abuse isn't just physical?

Stop being lapdogs guys.

Living like this, with a narcissist, isn't a healthy way to go through life.
